OverviewIn 2020, Foot Locker Inc. committed $200M to empower the Black community via the Leading Education and Economic Development (LEED) initiative. The Sr. Manager Programs, LEED is an integral member of Foot Locker’s LEED team. He/She/They will build on, iterate, globally scale, and implement LEED’s Education and Economic Development Programs that fall outside of the Product, Marketing and Vendor Development area. In addition, the Sr. Manager develops and executes the overall LEED governance, budgeting, and reporting framework collaborating with the appropriate SVPs and the VP Strategy, LEED. Reporting to the VP Strategy, LEED, the Sr. Manager will oversee and implement programs to deliver against, drive the development of, and measure performance of internal and external LEED programs by both direct program management of key initiatives and program management guidance, continuous improvement, and performance evaluation and measurement of programs that have been operationalized. A key responsibility of this role is to manage the contract development, prioritization, and compliance through close collaboration with the LEED team, Legal counsel, and Risk Management. In addition, this role provides highly polished and visually appealing presentations and documentation to support the VP Strategy, LEED to communicate program status to the enterprise leadership team and to other internal and external stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesCommunity Empowerment Grant Program:
  • Maintain, evaluate, and improve a global grant program that leverages external grant administration partners to deliver locally focused and connected opportunities in Foot Locker’s key global markets.
  • Work with external grant administration partners to deliver annually an impact report with measurable outcomes and maintain internal tracking for KPIs such as number of volunteer events and hours expended toward the program.
  • Partner with key managers to build on Foot Locker’s GEO offense by fostering community connectivity through the grant program focused on youth empowerment and opportunities for team member engagement.
  • Collaborate with the internal Marketing/Communications resources as well as the grant administration partners to energize storytelling and communication about the program and drive engagement across KPIs such as applications received, audience reach, media placements, impressions, and social mentions.
  • Collaborate with functional areas across North America and EMEA including Corporate and Field HR, Payroll, Operations, and Finance to facilitate and maintain processes and procedures, develop including tools and training to support community engagement opportunities for team members.
  • Identify opportunities for connections and collaboration with other program areas to multiply impacts.
  • Manage the annual process for invoicing/payment, application opening, and selection, approval, and public announcement of the winners.
  • Coordinate and drive the communication plan to introduce winners to their local LEED Community Coordinators.
  • Coordinate with the Field Strategy, Engagement & Communication team to maintain and update the SharePoint form, list and workflow that facilitates the Community Engagement process for North America.
  • Prepare the monthly forecast for volunteer labor hours, and interface with appropriate payroll and finance teams to obtain summary reports on number of volunteers and hours for KPI tracking.
Program Development and Oversight:
  • Partner with the VP Strategy, LEED and key internal stakeholders to ideate new programs and work streams within LEED and to create a framework for planning and implementing approved programs.
  • Monitor and escalate program-level risks, actions, issues and decisions (RAID) and facilitate mitigation, decision and issue resolution at the appropriate organizational levels. Ensure clear, consistent communication to all affected parties and maintain an archive.
  • As needed, develop milestone roadmaps in collaboration with work stream leads, third-party partners, and project owners to guide planning, monitoring and execution of projects and programs within the LEED portfolio as well as to provide overall visibility to LEED progress.
  • Partner with the VP Strategy, LEED and functional business owners as needed to secure project owners and resources to meet program needs.
  • Conduct program evaluations including lessons learned, KPI review and stakeholder feedback to collaboratively prioritize and implement program improvements.
Financial and Contractual:
  • Recruit and manage third-party providers that are consistent with the LEED mission to deliver programs and services.
  • Ensure adherence to Foot Locker contract management policy and procedures for LEED contracts and assist the LEED team and functional areas working on LEED initiatives to draft contracts aligned with Foot Locker contract administration requirements.
  • Maintain a system for tracking LEED contract status and own a bi-weekly meeting with LEED business users, Legal counsel, Risk Management and appropriate contract and finance representatives to discuss and prioritize all LEED contracts.
  • Maintain the program archives, including legal agreements, invoices, deliverables, and agreement-documentation. Ensure the contract archive is complete including any supplemental documentation such as participant releases.
  • Collaborate with LEED initiative budget owners to ensure contract payment schedules and key milestones for LEED initiatives are accurately reflected int the forecast and that the Finance team has the data needed for proper accruals.
Financial Planning:
  • Collaborating with the VP Strategy, LEED and the program owners, manage and monitor the budget for LEED initiatives including annual planning and budget approval, monthly forecasting, invoice tracking, expense shift data collection, and year-end reporting.
  • Collaborate with the initiative owners, Chief Accounting Officer and designates to maintain an accurate monthly forecast across the fiscal year and to communicate material changes to the monthly forecast in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with department and initiative and department owners, VP Strategy, LEED, LEED Directors and Sr. Managers to develop and monitor compliance with LEED financial reporting rules and to set annual expense shift goals across the LEED ecosystem.
  • Participate in the collection and verification of LEED financial data for public reporting, including through the annual social impact report and the annual LEED update.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project management, preferably in a variety of industries and across enterprise-wide transformative initiatives. Project management in a retail setting preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any concentration that emphasizes critical thinking, problem solving, and communication.
  • Thorough knowledge of vendor selection, relationship management, contract development and administration, back office financial procedures, and key functional areas such as Marketing
  • Familiarity and comfort-level in a highly matrixed environment working across global timelines and geographies and with all organizational levels up to and including the C-suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to “raise the bar” in terms of performance service, within a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven influencing and negotiating skills both internally and externally; ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional stakeholders to ensure high-quality decision-making and a holistic experience
  • Ability to take ownership of decisions and guide and push back in a diplomatic manner even when faced with dissenting points of view; encourage creative tension, while remaining positive and composed.
  • Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities in the consideration of impacts and outcomes of a decision-making process.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the financial, strategic, and technical capabilities of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
BenefitsThe annual base salary range is $105,000-$120,000, this range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
