OverviewThe Patient Care Technician play a vital role in ensuring our residents receive the best care and support while undergoing treatment for kidney disease.   • Monitor and document status of patient vitals and vascular status
  • Document patient observations and seeks guidance where levels are out of normal range for ESRD patient.
  • Report patient parameters to registered nurse as needed
  • Receive patient into treatment/exam area: weighs patient, takes temperature and blood pressure pre and post – dialysis; document on all dialysis flow sheets
  • Review dialysis prescription, notes general physical and mental condition of patient through observation and interview, obtain information and/ or data to determine compliance or dietary or medication regimen; document observations
  • Perform clerical duties to include filling, lab requisitions, scheduling appointment, answering phones, ordering supplies, billing, copying, faxing, data entry, maintaining patient charts
  • Dismantles, clean, and disinfects dialysis machines and equipment in accordance to company procedure; performs appropriate end of therapy terminal cleaning and disinfection of the dialysis equipment
Qualifications
  • High School diploma, general education diploma (“GED”)
  • Dialysis Technician Certificate by a CMS approved state certification program and/or a national commercially available certificate program required within 18 months of hire or position change
  • 2+ years of Dialysis experience
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Ability to interact with nurse staff and other team members
  • Must be personable and courteous when handling patients
  • Basic computer operating skills with the proficiency in MS Word and Outlook
  • Ability to lift up 50 pounds unassisted and able to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching and use of full range of body motion
