We are seeking a dependable Material Handler – Forklift Operator to join a growing team in the Maple Grove/Brooklyn Park area. This position involves handling materials to and from production areas, operating powered industrial trucks, and ensuring accurate documentation of all material movement. Ideal candidates will be safety-conscious, team-oriented, and eager to contribute to a high-performing production environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Operate material handling equipment including counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, pickers, tuggers, and turret trucks
- Accurately pick, kit, and deliver material to designated locations in a timely manner
- Use handheld scanners and computers to complete material transactions
- Perform material audits, empty hoppers, and manage dunnage
- Maintain clean and organized workspaces in compliance with safety standards
- Identify, document, and communicate discrepancies or improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with team members and work independently as needed
- Follow all safety guidelines and use required PPE
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1–3 years of material handling experience preferred
- Ability to read standard work instructions and complete improvement documentation
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow directions with limited supervision
- Frequent lifting up to 35 lbs and standing for 8+ hour shifts
- Exposure to welding fumes and noise levels over 85db
- Work in varying temperatures and confined or awkward positions
- Repetitive tasks involving grasping, pushing, pulling, and reaching
- Operation of cranes, hoists, and use of hand tools (e.g., box cutters, band cutters)
- Exposure to magnets that may interfere with medical devices
- Hearing protection
- Safety glasses
- Steel-toed/metatarsal footwear
- Bump cap
- Fall harness and other material handling safety equipment
