Assists with the hiring interview process. Serves as a liaison and provides routine guidance and assistance to agency employees and management/supervisors regarding employment related matters and inquiries. Cross trains and provides backup to other areas in Human Resources to ensure HR functions are performed consistently, primarily for the Department’s classification program. Prepares, maintains, and stores a variety of HR records and files.State of Illinois Benefits

Essential Functions
  • Performs assigned aspects of the employment process, including posting, bidding, job notifications, hiring, reference checks, and Recall Lists.
  • Conducts the hiring and interview process.
  • Serves as a liaison and provides routine guidance and assistance to agency employees and management/supervisors regarding employment related matters and inquiries.
  • Cross trains and provides backup to other areas in Human Resources to ensure HR functions are performed consistently, primarily for the Department’s classification program.
  • Prepares, maintains, and stores a variety of HR records and files.
  • Performs other duties as requires or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerate above.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college.
  • Requires one year of professional experience, preferably in human resources, or satisfactory completion of an approved training program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefers at least three years of experience in the employment hiring process, including interviewing, reviewing applications, and making job offers.
  • Prefers at least one year of experience creating and posting job vacancies utilizing SuccessFactors human resources software.
  • Prefers at least three years of experience in a human resources title, such as human resources assistant, human resources associate, human resources representative, or similar.
Conditions of Employment
  • Requires a valid, appropriate driver’s license and the ability to travel in the performance of duties.
  • Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.
