- Strategic Leadership:
- Define and implement a clear technical strategy for the Yusen Vantage platform, focusing on integrating and enhancing essential Supply Chain Management products.
- Ensure alignment with overall business objectives and market needs to maintain competitive advantage.
- Product Development:
- Oversee the end-to-end development and integration of essential products, ensuring seamless functionality within the X Vantage platform.
- Managed product lifecycle, from concept to deployment and maintenance, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with developers, designers, and business partners to gather and translate requirements into actionable development plans.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across teams to ensure alignment and address any challenges or changes in requirements.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Engage with diverse stakeholders, including Customers, Process Owners, Enterprise Architects, Application Managers, Development teams, and Technical Architects, to understand their needs and ensure their perspectives are integrated into product development.
- Balance and align stakeholder expectations with technical feasibility and business goals.
- Product Integration:
- Drive the integration of global forwarding data (IFF), order tracking (Order Management), real-time inventory updates (WMS), transload operations data, and drayage visibility into a cohesive visibility solution.
- Ensure the integrated products work harmoniously within the platform to provide a comprehensive and seamless user experience.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strategic Guidance: Use your extensive technical knowledge to direct development efforts, troubleshoot complex issues, and make strategic decisions about product improvements and integrations.
- Industry Trends: Keep current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously advance the platform's capabilities and maintain competitive advantage.
- Technology Mastery: Demonstrate a deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, container orchestration, microservices, and modern development practices.
- Architectural Design: Lead the design and transition of solutions from traditional systems to microservices and micro front-end architectures, enhancing overall platform efficiency.
- Client Solutions: Refine multi-channel client architectures to provide distinct and enhanced user experiences using containerization and cloud technologies.
- Governance: Establish and enforce best practices and governance principles for microservices development to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- DevOps Oversight: Manage DevOps practices to guarantee that solutions are performant, secure, scalable, and reliable, focusing on optimal deployment and maintainability.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement and enforce best practices for product development and integration, ensuring high quality, reliability, and performance standards.
- Monitor and evaluate product performance, address issues, and make improvements as necessary to meet user needs and expectations.
- Strategic Planning and Reporting:
- Develop and execute strategic product development and integration plans, setting clear objectives and milestones.
- To senior management and relevant stakeholders, provide regular updates and reports on project progress, challenges, and achievements.
- Team Leadership:
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging professional growth and development within the team.
- Customer and Market Focus:
- Gather and analyze customer feedback and market trends to inform product development and ensure the platform meets evolving needs and expectations.
- Prioritize features and improvements based on customer and market demands to enhance the platform’s value and relevance.
- 18+ years managing technical staff including 10+ years leading a software development team.
- 10+ years of programming experience in custom software analysis, design and development
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent education and work experience is required.
- 10+ years experience managing 3rd party consultants and/or offshore team
- Solid track record of enterprise IT experience or substantial professional services experience collaborating with stakeholders to deliver cloud solutions
- Thorough enterprise software development experience with languages such as Java, Python, .Net
- Thorough enterprise software development experience with Javascript frameworks such as Angular Typescript.
- Experience with deploying to cloud-based environments
- Strong understanding of Cloud concepts such as IAM, networking (shared VPC’s), running VM, Container and/or serverless based workloads in the cloud
- Hands on expertise with container platforms and evangelizing cloud-native architectures
- Experience with containerization and virtualization platforms, as well as container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
- Strong architectural knowledge of cloud infrastructure and large distributed cloud environments
- Strong working knowledge and experience architecting large-scale, secure, performant and high availability solutions in any public cloud environment
- Experience with microservices architectures
- Experience with both SQL & NoSQL databases
- Knowledge of backup & recovery procedures and technologies, data storage and retention requirements
- Knowledge with cloud automation tools, frameworks & workflows
- Experience in automation through DevSecOps in Cloud environments and familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Git, Azure DevOps, SonarQube, Terraform, Ansible.
- Experience building and packaging docker images and containers using Helm
- Familiarity with Agile, Lean, Scrum and Kanban Methodologies
- Knowledgeable on technical data analysis, software configuration and software testing.
- Experienced with technical troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Advanced interpersonal, business communication, and writing skills.
