QTEC Aerospace is seeking a WEB BASED SOFTWARE ENGINEER to join our team of professionals in Colorado Springs, CO. The successful candidate will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS) with a mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.Job SummaryQTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs.Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
  • Supporting existing applications and developing user interfaces and tools for internal use
  • Responsible for understanding documented requirements, implementing solutions, and performing unit testing of the tools and code
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree with at least 9 years of experience or 6 years of professional experience in lieu of a degree
  • IAT Level II Certification (Security+ or equivalent)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of web-based software development and user interface design
  • Experience with a framework for building web applications, such as Angular or React
  • Ability to work with Java, HTTP, JavaScript/JSON, CesiumJS open-source JavaScript library, and WildFly/JBossAS application server
  • Experience with configuration management, software, and web development
  • Experience with platforms and tools such as:
  • PHP, Apache and IIS web servers, MySQL, Oracle, JavaScript, RHEL Linux, Eclipse and/or Java Beans, Sphinx, ClearQuest, and Memcached
  • Experience with Relational, Graph, or Document databases
  • Experience with TypeScript, Docker, Elastic, Bootstrap, and Jira
  • Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Deployment (CD)
  • Experience with setting up Jenkins builds
  • Experience with software security tools, including HP Fortify and SonarQube
  • Experience with microservices, Swagger, and API definitions
  • Demonstrated use of Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and configuration management (Git, Bitbucket)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
  • Self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Experience with DevOps and/or DevSecOps
  • Knowledge of/experience with:
  • WAVE, Selenium, iSpace, Spring Boot, Istio/OpenShift/Kubernetes, Nginx, HashiCorp Vault, ArgoCD/FluxCD, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Terraform/OpenTofu
  • Prior work on DoD contracts, performing tools, and web development is preferred
Security ClearanceCandidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.Salary RangeThe below salary range represents a general guideline; however, QTEC considers a number of factors when determining base salary such as the scope and responsibilities of the position as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
