- Facilitates open, professional (verbal, nonverbal, written) communication to achieve mutual understanding within the department to ensure regulatory compliance. Communicates with personnel to promote radiation safety and ensure problem resolution is clear and professional, providing the highest quality service during every encounter.
- Contributes towards improvement of department scores for employee engagement, i.e. peer-to-peer accountability.
- Performs all diagnostic x-ray procedures as ordered by physician.
- Accurately enters patient demographics, and other information into PACS system.
- Transfers images to physician stations for interpretation.
- Gathers all radiology reports and films needed for next business day.
- Collects appropriately requested radiology films and reports requested by patients.
- Follows radiation safety department policy and procedures for Radiation protection of employee and patient.
- Protects patient and family privacy rights and maintains confidentiality of patient records and computer security codes, as well as protects the integrity of privileged information.
- Ensures all imaging equipment has had QC performed as required and is in safe working order prior to use. Reports any malfunctions to management and regularly practices preventive maintenance procedures; calls for service if needed.
- Provides accurate and complete documentation of patient procedures. Enters charges at the time service is delivered.
- Monitors supplies to maintain par levels and reports needed supplies to the person responsible for ordering.
- Utilizes resources with cost effectiveness and value creation in mind. Self-motivated to independently manage time effectively and prioritize daily tasks, assisting coworkers as needed.
- Continues professional growth through networking, and attendance at professional society meetings to maintain familiarity with new equipment and new techniques.
- Seeks opportunities to identify self-development needs and takes appropriate action. Ensures own career discussions occur with appropriate management. Completes and updates the My Development Plan on an on-going basis.
- Graduate of education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section

- LMRT - Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist - State Licensure AND
- BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA)
- Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations
- Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles
- Ability to multi-task and demonstrate attention to detail
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
- Advanced computer skills a plus such as knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Word
