Familiarity with design of cylinder heads, liners, pistons, rings, valves, etc. is an added plus. The Engineer will be responsible for carrying out required duties not only to support engineering and R&D projects, but also quality, supplier development, manufacturing, and field service organizations.Job Duties:
  • Create cost effective solutions for design of power assembly components including connecting rods, bearings and other engine components
  • Gather and evaluate mechanical design requirements to develop conceptual solutions
  • Develop, implement, and maintain engineering designs
  • Plan and implement experimental tests and/or development programs
  • Support supplier development and prototyping of experimental parts
  • Support engineering evaluation of field failures and drive root cause and corrective action initiatives to solve customer problems
Qualifications:
  • MS or BS in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or equivalent
  • College level training in theory and practical aspects of applied mechanics, heat, mass transfer, and its applications
  • Experienced (3 or more years) in failure analysis of mechanical systems and developing solutions to solve failure mode
  • Proficient in engineering tools to aid in design and development of engine components
  • Experienced in design validation of mechanical components
  • Experience in Unigraphics/NX & Ansys CAE tools
  • Understanding of design/manufacturing processes
