OEP plays critical part of the eligibility process that moves beyond integration and equality, to focus on equity of services and providing timely, accurate, and necessary eligibility determinations through a person-centered approach.As an Eligibility Worker, you will:Interview applicants to gather and assess information for benefits we administer, such as Domestic Violence services, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Long Term Care (LTC) services, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Employment Related Day Care (ERDC), and various Medicaid (Health insurance) programs.Perform eligibility determinations, redeterminations, and periodic reviews.Conduct interviews over the phone with applicants applying for benefits.Communicate eligibility decisions to applicants.Provide person-centered services with a trauma-informed approach to identify needs.Be responsible for accurate and timely eligibility determinations.Create a work environment where everyone feels welcomed, appreciated and valued.Participate in professional development opportunities and ongoing education of cultural awareness.Minimum QualificationsTwo years of experience determining eligibility for an agency program by interviewing to assess the needs of clients and interpreting and applying the policies, rules, and guidelines applicable to the client's situation.An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience relative to the class concept.To qualify for this position, you must be bilingual in Vietnamese and English.Essential AttributesWe are looking for candidates with:Experience conducting work that requires attention to detail, particularly with data entry and reviewing documents.Experience adapting communication style to explain complex information such as rules or procedures verbally and in writing to diverse audiences.Experience using time management, organization, and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.Experience providing customer service that is person centered and .Experience with technical skills that include basic computer and search engine knowledge, email communication and learning new web-based platforms.Experience developing meaningful relationships that foster trust, inclusivity, and respect.Attention all candidates! This ongoing work schedule is not negotiable and will not be adjusted to accommodate other time zones.Your training schedule will be 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday PDT/PST.This position is fully remote.The ability to report to a local branch office may be required when training, business or operational needs are dependent on onsite activities. Travel expenses are not provided, nor reimbursable for remote work employees per travel policy paragraph 105:You will communicate with customers over the phone and process work electronically using multiple computer screens and databases for prolonged periods of each workday.You will interact with a wide range of people including some who have experienced trauma and may be experiencing emotional and/or financial distress.Consistent attendance is essential.Flexibility/adaptability is essential due to a changing environment with regular policy, program, and technical adjustments.Occasional overtime may be offered depending on business need.Background Checks and RequirementsIf selected as a finalist, we will conduct a criminal history and background check.
