
Principal Systems Engineer - Air Combat Training (Onsite)

- Lead the team in creating and maintaining system designs, interface definitions, requirements, analyses, trade studies, and other documentation
- Build strong relationships and effectively communicate with team members and customers
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate with engineering leadership and program management to ensure the success of the program
- Perform Control Account Manager (CAM) duties utilizing earned value management methods, including bidding, planning, overseeing, and communicating project cost, schedule, and risk
- Guide and mentor in a flexible agile development environment
- Manage multiple competing tasks while balancing priorities
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience OR in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
- Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) Secret or above security clearance
- Experience with the systems development process
- Experience making decisions that impact cost, schedule, and technical performance
- Outstanding teamwork, organization, and communication skills
- Willing to travel up to 10%
- Experience with system/subsystem-level architecture, design, requirements development, and documentation
- Working knowledge of military networking, communication, navigation, cybersecurity, or encryption systems or avionics data buses
- Experience with Model-Based Design (MBD)/Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools like MagicDraw/Cameo, SysML, or Simulink
- Experience working with DOORS or Jama
- Background as a CAM using earned value management
- Experience coordinating the development of technical proposals and cost estimates during the bid and proposal phase
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience leading in an Scaled Agile environment using Jira tracking
- Familiarity with US export regulations: International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
- Earned an advanced STEM degree or MBA
- Currently hold a security clearance or have held one within the past two years
