- Conduct hydraulic computations and computer modeling and analysis of water distribution and wastewater collection systems using software tools such as InfoWater, InfoSewer, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, H2OMap, EPANET, SWMM / PCSWMM and InfoWorks.
- Develop calibrated hydraulic models of existing water and wastewater infrastructure to simulate system performance under various scenarios.
- Analyze and interpret modeling results to provide insights into system behavior and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
- Collaborate with engineers, planners, and other stakeholders to integrate modeling insights into the design and planning of water and wastewater projects.
- Work with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, or relational database management software (such as MS-Access, SQL Server, or Oracle) to integrate spatial data into modeling workflows.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate modeling findings and recommendations effectively using strong communication skills.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and clients regarding water and wastewater modeling methodologies and software applications.
- Mentor, train, and guide junior hydraulic modelers and engineers on water and wastewater hydraulic modeling analyses.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to water and wastewater modeling.
- Directs project team and client compliance with contract terms and monitors subcontractors' compliance with contractual commitments.
- Prepares project work plan, scope, schedule, and budget, and communicates these to project team members; monitors/manages project production for compliance with schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field and 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.
- 7 years of relevant experience in water/wastewater hydraulic analysis and computer modeling.
- Strong understanding of water and wastewater systems, hydraulic principles, and modeling techniques.
- Proficiency in using modeling software such as InfoWater, InfoSewer, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, H2OMap, EPANET, SWMM / PCSWMM and InfoWorks for hydraulic analysis and design.
- Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and database software such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD, MS-Access, SQL Server, or Oracle for spatial analysis and data visualization.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work within project deadlines.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification is a plus.
- Experience leading modeling aspects of projects and/or mentoring junior staff.
- Experience in one or more hydraulic transient modeling software platforms.
