What You'll Do::
- As the leader and ambassador of our kitchen concept, create an atmosphere of excitement and inclusiveness with team members and guests
- Forecast and maintain teams by collaborating with Store Managment in the sourcing, selecting, hiring and training of new team members
- Write and manage weekly schedule for team members in the Square to ensure a superior guest experience
- Order all ingredients, supplies and beer and wine for the Square/Kitchen, and manage weekly inventory reviews
- Build sales and profitability of department, including manage sales, profitability, margin and shrink generated in the Square
- Create food production schedules to ensure all policies and procedures are followed to ensure food safety and quality
- Guarantee the cleaning schedule is followed for all cases within the Square, including ensuring that equipment is maintained properly, serviced regularly and any maintenance issues are communicated in a timely manner
- Partnering with the Guest Services Manager provide team members a hospitable orientation and onboarding experience team members
- Manage the training of the team through The Fresh Market Academy and “on-the-job” training to provide excellent guest service in a safe and secure manner
- Coach team members to optimize operations and further team development and increase retention
- Ensure your team members are adhering to The Fresh Market standards and policies
- With the store management, ensure department adherence to all safety requirements and protocols including food safety per TFM policies, and per law
- 5 plus years of experience as a front of house and/or back of house restaurant manager within the retail, restaurant, or hospitality field
- Proven oral and written communication skills that allow for productive communication with your team, management, and guests
- High School Diploma
- Must be at least 18 years of age **with the exception of Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio must be at least 19 years of age
- Must have passion for cooking delicious, healthy, and safe food
- Must have high standards for food quality and customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of local, state and federal food and health department requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Food Science, Nutrition or Hotel/Restaurant Management is highly desirable
- Retail, Culinary and/or Grocery experience
- Production Planning Software experience
- Repetitive hand/arm movements, grasping, bending, reaching, ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds by oneself, exposure to extreme temperatures
- Ability to use tools equipment: knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment
- Required to spend long periods of time on feet and stand or walk without a break (for up to 4 hours or as required by law)
- Required to wear approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment
