- Location: Kodiak, Alaska (99615) Alaska nursing jobs
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 9/22/2025 End: 12/22/2025)
- Healthcare Setting: Acute Care Medical Center / Long Term Care Facility
- Shifts: 3x12-hour variable shifts per week (Day: 07:0019:00 or Night: 19:0007:00)
- Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for one 12-hour shift per 2 weeks)
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics (22-bed LTC unit)
- Charting System: Epic EMR
- Scrub Color: Any or business casual
- Parking: Free on-site parking
- Housing & Vehicle: Facility-provided 1-bedroom apartment and rental vehicle for duration of assignment
- Active Alaska RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand prior to start)
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in long term care or acute care
- BLS certification required
- Experience with Epic or similar electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Willingness to work weekends and 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
- Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Must live at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates accepted)
- Facility only accepts Hepatitis B vaccine (no titers or declinations)
- First-time travel nurses welcome!
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric residents in a long-term care setting
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including those with dementia, Alzheimer's, CVA, COPD, and other chronic conditions
- Perform oxygen administration (nasal cannula or face mask), peripheral line care, and follow isolation/PPE protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, social services, pharmacy, and more
- Accurately document patient care in Epic EMR
- Participate in facility orientation and required training modules
- Float to other units or affiliate hospitals as needed
