
Veterinary Technician

- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
- With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain a positive patient flow.
- Assist with surgeries and procedures.
- Receive, handle, and treat patients with skill, compassion, and care including accurately performing laboratory tests.
- Use safe restraining techniques and follow standard protocols.
- Sustain a clean, sterile, organized environment including general areas, treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
- Accurately dispense and administer medications under the supervision of a doctor.
- Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems
- Ability to observe the animal's appearance and activity for general physical condition, obvious signs of illness, disease, and discontent.
- Regular attendance and timeliness are essential functions in order to fulfill the requirements of this position.
- Strong communication and client service skills. Ability to work with clients and patients in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner.
- Work well with all team members and ensure that your actions support the hospital, the doctors, and the practice philosophy.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- Familiar with veterinary medicine terminology
- Proficient in the use, care, sterilization, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment.
- Familiarity with standard procedures used in various treatments to prepare and provide assistance
- Understanding of client service principles, including assessing needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating satisfaction.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
- Exhibit a positive attitude and a desire for continuous learning
- 2 years of veterinary experience - strong veterinary technical skills required
