- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and review job cost reports, project budgets, and forecasts.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other financial reporting standards.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure timely completion of audit schedules.
- Support the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Assist in cash flow forecasting and management.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as required.
- Support system implementations and process improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and job costing.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, Viewpoint) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
