Job Description:SEEKING INTERN FROM August 2025 through December 2025FSA's Strengthening Families Intern is in a fixed-term position that provides experience in a professional working environment. This individual will receive training and mentorship to support a variety of services offered through JFSA's Strengthening Families Division. These services may include, but are not limited to assisting with the Know Abuse™ Teen Dating Violence Prevention program, attending local schools and disseminating educational materials, and collaborating with internal and external resources.Key responsibilities:
  • Attend regular supervision meetings with Domestic Violence Services Manager and/or Community and Prevention Specialist.
  • Work with the advocate staff to gain relevant education and skills in the field of non-profit social work
  • Attend scheduled Know Abuse™ school presentations
  • Collaborate with staff on special projects as needed
  • Assist with administrative office work as needed
  • Contribute to the control of hazards in specified areas of responsibility
  • Maintain client confidentiality
  • Demonstrate awareness of, follow all safety policies and procedures, and adhere to all recommended safe work practices.

  • Current attendance at college / university
  • High school diploma or GED

  • Ability to perform job duties with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.

  • Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and outstanding people skills.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with staff, board members, accrediting bodies, funding bodies, clients, volunteers, and the public.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
