- Attend regular supervision meetings with Domestic Violence Services Manager and/or Community and Prevention Specialist.
- Work with the advocate staff to gain relevant education and skills in the field of non-profit social work
- Attend scheduled Know Abuse™ school presentations
- Collaborate with staff on special projects as needed
- Assist with administrative office work as needed
- Contribute to the control of hazards in specified areas of responsibility
- Maintain client confidentiality
- Demonstrate awareness of, follow all safety policies and procedures, and adhere to all recommended safe work practices.
- Current attendance at college / university
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to perform job duties with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
- Sensitivity to working with diverse cultures and language abilities
- Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate sound judgment and outstanding people skills.
- Emotional maturity, stability, personal integrity, initiative, and resourcefulness.
- Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with staff, board members, accrediting bodies, funding bodies, clients, volunteers, and the public.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
