- Operate and monitor boilers and other mechanical systems.
- Grade assets for degradation and remaining lifespan.
- Verify Emergency lighting and exit signage are in proper condition.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and safety.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform necessary repairs or coordinate with specialists.
- Request work orders when equipment is found in need of repair.
- Work with NAVFAC boiler inspector to maintain required yearly certification of the boilers.
- Maintain accurate logs of system readings, maintenance tasks, and safety inspections.
- Ensure compliance with safety codes, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
- Respond to system alarms or emergencies, performing corrective actions to restore operations.
- Recommend improvements or upgrades to enhance system efficiency and performance.
- Ensure work areas are cleaned and restored after maintenance tasks are completed.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Must possess American Society of Power Engineers - Power Plant Operating Engineer 2nd class license.
- Three (3) years of experience operating and maintaining high- or low-pressure boilers, HVAC systems, and related equipment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
- Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
- Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching for long periods of time.
- Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE.
- Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
