We accomplish this with our dedicated skilled staff who strive to provide excellent customer service and responsiveness.Under direction of the HVAC Supervisor, be responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of all equipment used in providing utilities, and environmental conditioning to buildings serviced by the Central Plant and package equipment.Total Compensation:In addition to the salary range listed below, we offer a wealth of benefits to make working at UCI even more rewarding. Please utilize the links listed here to learn more about our and .$47.90 (Hourly Rate)Required:Five years related experience in building automation technology.Must possess a valid California driver license and participate in the DMV Employee Pull Notice program.Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with peers, supervisors, and campus population. Must perform daily maintenance on Siemens, Johnson, Alerton, and Phoenix Controls network software and field panels. Troubleshoot problems and take corrective action as required. Identify areas for improvement. Understand networking as it relates to the building automation system. Must possess the technical expertise and knowledge to implement campus standard sequences or operation and be able to modify existing sequences to enhance system performance. Must possess comprehensive knowledge of pneumatic and DDC control components and scenarios. Be able to install new equipment to campus standards. Understand all major building systems as they relate to controls (HVAC, Fire Life Safety, Lighting, Central Plant Operations). Be able to maintain and calibrate all system components associated with the BAS. Must have working knowledge of Siemens or Johnson software packages, and be familiar with graphic software (MicroGraphix, Visio), Windows, and Microsoft software packages Must assist in the creation and implementation of effective energy management scenarios. This would include, but not be limited to, HVAC, Lighting, and Metering. Have a thorough knowledge of current energy efficient building components and how they may be used to reduce campus energy consumption. Must utilize the reporting capabilities in the Apogee Insight and Johnson Metasys systems to provide the information required for troubleshooting and utility management. Provide management with clear and concise reports on matters pertaining to building operations. Ability to work from as-built mechanical, electrical, and site drawings to identify and analyze all Building Automation Systems. Knowledge and experience in the use of test equipment and power tools to perform such work. Familiarity with present HVAC equipment function and design variations. Awareness of the urgencies that are inherent to University research facilities. Experience in utilizing manufacturer s equipment manuals and specifications in order to ascertain proper equipment operation and maintenance procedures. Use of this information in ordering and replacement of necessary parts. A working knowledge of computers, microprocessors, and programmable controllers as applied to Building Automation Systems Ability to wear a respirator Technical training with Siemens or Johnson building automation systems.Preferred:Two years-technical school training or job related equipment-training seminars in Building Automation Systems. -PreferredCreate new and modify existing graphical interface to campus building automation system, incorporating ease of use while providing adequate control for the basic user Possess a working knowledge of laboratory systems, components, and operations Knowledge of Alerton hardware and software, Experience in working in confined spaceSpecial Conditions Required:Must possess a valid California driver license and participate in the DMV Employee Pull Notice program. Must be available for on-call assignments or alternate work schedule. Must be willing to work weekends.
