Our expertise is the design and manufacture of communications-based specialty products - engineered components and subsystems - for demanding military, space, commercial aerospace/industrial, and telecom infrastructure applications where function and reliability are crucial.POSITION OVERVIEW:
- Works with a team in the engineering organization to design, analyze, document, and verify RF subassemblies, circuits, modules, and systems including filters, LNAs, oscillators, mixers, PLLs, and that push the limits of technology and performance
- Works independently on difficult specifications and designs
- Analog RF circuit and system design
- Interfaces with PCB designers to assure superior RF performance of layouts
- Interacts with customers and business development to understand and influence customer specifications
- Interfaces with production to continually improve design and design methodologies
- Creates and manages the creation of engineering prototypes
- Validates new designs to characterize total performance to failure
- Responds to potential orders (Request for Quotes (RFQ) for feasibility of electrical and mechanical specifications.
- Uses Electronic Test Equipment (Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscope, Signal Generator, Voltmeter, etc.) to tune and test both passive and active modules
- Experience in RF filter, amplifier design, frequency converters, multipliers, solid state switching and supporting circuitry, impedance matching, evaluating performance tradeoffs, and analysis
- Demonstrated ability to work within frequency range .001-40 GHz with a broadband focus.
- Demonstrated RF/MW filter design knowledge and competence working in several filter topologies; this knowledge should include RF/analog, active, and digital circuits, where required
- Mastery of filter synthesis, simulation, and analysis software to design or modify filter designs based on proven filter methods and techniques, including the capability of training and mentoring others
- Must be as comfortable designing at a desk as testing in the lab
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers in verbal and written formats
- Must be able to solve, diagnose and fix problems at all levels of design. (schematic, layout, module assembly, system, and production)
- Ability to design to accomplish cost, size, weight, power and manufacturability objectives
- Ability to think of independent solutions that are not presently standard or proven.
- Regularly participates in in-depth design discussions that result in establishing filter definition as well as increasing filter understanding.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
- Possesses statistical mathematics skills
- Extensive knowledge of test equipment including signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power equipment, environmental chambers, and network analyzers,
- Possesses an advanced level of computer skills.
