- Serve as the first point of contact for the department-greet visitors, answer phone lines, and communicate with current and prospective students.
- Coordinate department meetings, take minutes, and assist with scheduling for professional development activities.
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper files, course schedules, and departmental communications.
- Handle confidential materials and sensitive information with discretion.
- Oversee department and auxiliary unit budgets, including the David M. Barton Agriculture Research Center and Charles H. Hutson Greenhouse; manage expenditures, invoices, purchase requisitions and account transfers.
- Coordinate textbook orders and supply inventory; serve as liaison with publishers and vendors.
- High school diploma, GED, or HiSET
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Evidence of accuracy in recording data and attention to detail
- Experience with budget management
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and collaborate as a team member
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
- Letter of interest addressing all position qualifications
