Summary/Objective: AVID Tutoring opportunities exist at comprehensive middle and high schools in District 6. Applicants must be willing to work within a variety of content areas with small groups of students under the supervision of a certified teacher in a classroom during the regular school day. D6 Student AVID Tutors serve as guides and facilitators of students’ learning through questioning, writing, thinking, and discussing. D6 Student AVID Tutors may work a minimum of one hour per week, or multiple hours, depending on the tutor's availability of open/off blocks. D6 Student AVID Tutors must be a junior or senior in a District 6 high school and must be at least 16 years of age at the time of application.
Complete AVID Tutor Training (4 hours asynchronous)Essential Functions:
- Current District 6 junior or senior
- Prior to employment, all candidates who are over 18 years of age at any time during employment must pass a District 6 background check at the expense of the district
- Applicants who are over 18 years of age at any time during employment may be required to submit fingerprints and a fee of $39.50 to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation prior to employment
