- Oversees all aspects of projects
- Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors execution, and summarizes progress of project
- Perform project management functions for plant improvement project including problem identification, solution options, estimates, time lines, bid requests, bid analysis, and construction management
- Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of projects
- Provides designs, calculations, specifications and drawings for processing plant improvement projects
- Provide technical support as needed to operating sites including, equipment/process troubleshooting, equipment failure analysis, safety evaluations and process improvement evaluations
- Provides document management and cost tracking functions for projects
- Establish long term cost profiles with Logistics to meet rail capacity
- Adhere to all company, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
- Meet or exceed company safety standards
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or related field, Master's preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) preferred and Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required
- 5 years of related experience in building materials, aggregates, construction and logistics development a plus
- Competent in latest versions of AutoCAD, Excel and word processing software. Being able to transition to AutoCAD 3D design environment
- Competent in mathematical calculations design forces both static and dynamic as they interact in structures
- Ability to understand engineering design drawings
- Experienced in earthwork and site plan calculations, plan preparation and grading/construction oversight
- Knowledge in Concrete and Steel Design and Steel Erection
- Knowledge in crushing, screening, and fines recovery system for aggregate plants
- Knowledge in pump design for process water and solids.
- Competent in Heavy Industrial Construction
- Surveying experience with total station, GPS systems accessories is a plus
- Project management and construction management experience
- Knowledge in sizing equipment for application(s) is desired
- Knowledge of advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office products, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and Structural Analysis Software
- Ability to work independently, and to manage multiple projects with limited supervision
- Ability to use Critical Path Method Scheduling with Microsoft Projects or Primavera software
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate engineering information clearly and concisely
- Ability to relate to all levels within the organization
- Ability to interact with plant operations team
- Able to analyze information and drive initiatives
- Ability to travel, up to 40% of time
- Open to relocation for upward mobility
- Bi-lingual (a plus)
- Capable to work extended hours as needed
- Capable of working in an open concept office environment
- Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
- Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors
