- Work under the direction of the assigned Project Manager to communicate with customers, including traveling to customers’ facilities for meetings and information collection.
- Develop Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) for assigned projects.
- Perform fluid dynamic and thermodynamic calculations to size pumps, piping, valves, heat exchangers, and steam and cooling loads.
- Specify pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and prepare requisition forms for component purchase.
- Ensure that contractual scope and specified requirements are met by the process design.
- Communicate honestly with project managers and customers to address technical, operating, or fiscal discrepancies.
- Provide detailed overviews and direction to support control panel design and PLC programming.
- Assist project managers and/or sales in obtaining drawing approvals and fulfilling informational needs.
- Support sales and estimating departments by providing technical reviews of proposals and assisting with technical and cost evaluations.
- Provide on-site overview and verification of piping installation to ensure it conforms to the P&ID and sanitary piping practices.
- Assist in on-site startup, commissioning, and training of customer personnel.
- Resolve design discrepancies, customer punch lists, and/or warranty issues with the Project Manager.
- Ensure project schedule and scope stay on track with sufficient on-site presence.
- Travel approximately 35% of the time, including overnight stays, mostly in the regional Midwest and occasionally internationally.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with multiple departments
- Eagerness to learn and improve processes
- Experience in the process industry
- Background in food or beverage sectors
