
Director of Engineering - Solar Distributed Generation

This role requires a problem-solving mentality with extensive experience in the solar industry, excellent coordination skills, and a deep understanding of engineering principles.Main responsibilities:Engineering Management:
- Oversee the design of solar distributed generation projects from concept to completion.
- Manage the accurate and timely execution of system designs, technical reviews and risk assessments.
- Effectively manage & coordinate multiple providers of Engineering Services.
- Ensure projects meet all the company’s quality and safety standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team and other departments.
- Stay in tune with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the company remains at the forefront of innovation.
- Provide technical support during client meetings and presentations.
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, methodologies, and tools.
- Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality in engineering operations.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including design standards, specifications, and procedures.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement with internal stakeholders (Origination, Development, Construction and Asset Management).

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in energy industry, with at least 5 years in the solar industry.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV system design, energy storage solutions, and grid integration.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and solve complex technical problems.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to be self-motivated
- Strong Interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
- Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
- Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
- Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
- Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
- Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
