
Information Security Officer

- Manage, lead, and mentor the security operations and engineering teams.
- The Security Operations Team is comprised of 4 full-time analysts and multiple student workers. They are augmented by an outsourced 24/7 SOC.
- The Security Engineering Team is responsible for the acquisition, deployments, maintenance, and support of various Information Security solutions including vulnerability management, SIEM, IDS/IPS, threat analytics and intelligence, and network monitoring. This team implements automation to reduce manual processes. In addition, this team provides security expertise in strategic projects.
- Work with the Chief Information Security Officer and the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer on strategic projects priorities.
- Participate in the Security Incident Response process.
- Provide vendor management for many of the Information Security tools and services.
- Light Project Management (Small internal projects)
- Bachelor's Degree Required. Equivalent combination of experience, education and/or certifications may be substituted in lieu of degree. Master's Degree Preferred.
- 8 years of security related work experience including managing technical security teams.
- Ability to communicate via written and verbal communication in both formal and casual situations.
- Demonstrated initiative and success in providing Information Security services, preferably in a university setting.
- Knowledge of Information Security principles, practices, and concepts.
- Broad technical knowledge, including networking, systems, applications, and cloud.
- Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Information Security, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Ten or more years of job related experience
- Experience negotiating and balancing competing priorities
- Experience as a team member or manager in a Security Operations Center
- Experience as a team member or manager in a Software Engineering or Systems Administration
- Experience presenting to technical and non-technical audiences
- Attention to detail
- Experience managing and coaching a diverse team
