Job DescriptionJoin Nordstrom’s Platform and Data (PND) organization as a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) on the Insights Delivery team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the implementation of a scalable and sustainable data governance operating model across the enterprise. You will partner with cross-functional teams to ensure that data governance practices are embedded into our data platforms, analytics solutions, and business processes to drive trusted, high-quality data for decision-making.The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in technical program management, data governance, and enterprise data strategy. You will be responsible for implementing an enterprise data governance operating model for Nordstrom; leading its refinement in partnership with business leaders, ensuring it evolves to meet organizational needs while enabling successful adoption of governance capabilities.A day in the life...Program Strategy and Execution- Lead the development and implementation of the enterprise data governance operating model, including data ownership, stewardship, and quality management frameworks.- Define and manage program roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful execution of governance initiatives.- Collaborate with data platform, analytics, and business teams to integrate governance practices into data lifecycle processes.Governance Framework and Policy Development- Establish and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with business requirements and data strategy.- Ensure that all data governance roles defined by the enterprise operating model are effectively supported. Provide coordination, resources, and guidance to help these stakeholders fulfill their responsibilities and deliver on governance objectives.- Drive adoption of data cataloging, metadata management, and data quality tools and practices.Stakeholder Engagement and Change Management- Executive Communication and Strategic Storytelling: Craft compelling narratives that connect governance initiatives to business outcomes, tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences. Effectively communicate program goals, progress, and risks to executive leadership, while proactively surfacing key decisions and trade-offs.- Partner with business and technology leaders to align governance objectives with enterprise data strategy.- Facilitate stakeholder workshops and working groups to gather requirements, resolve issues, and build consensus.- Develop communication and training plans to support change management and ensure stakeholder readiness.Collaboration and Leadership- Work closely with the PND leaders and other TPMs to align governance initiatives with broader platform and data programs.- Provide thought leadership and mentorship to team members and stakeholders on data governance best practices.- Advocate for a data-driven culture and foster accountability for data quality and stewardship across the organization.You own this if you have...- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).- 7+ years of experience in technical program management, with a focus on data governance, data management, or enterprise data strategy.- Proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional programs in a matrixed organization, ideally involving data platform teams, analytics teams, and business stakeholders.- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, data quality, and data privacy.- Understanding of modern data platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Databricks, Azure), data cataloging tools (e.g., DataHub, Collibra) is a plus.- PMP, Agile, or Scrum certification is a plus.#LI-HybridWe’ve got you covered…Our employees are our most important asset and that’s reflected in our benefits.
