George Fox University announces a tenure-track faculty position in civil engineering, to begin in August 2025. We seek applicants with the ability to teach in a broad range of undergraduate civil engineering courses, giving priority to candidates with expertise in one or more of the following specializations: geotechnical, construction and/or transportation engineering.   • Teaching a broad range of undergraduate courses within the curriculum of the Department of Mechanical, Civil and Biomedical Engineering in areas such as geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, construction management, surveying, AutoCAD/Civil3D and engineering economics.
  • Developing and sustaining an ongoing program of relevant scholarship.
  • Participating in the work of the department and the university, including advising and serving on university committees as needed.
  • Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience working cross culturally with respect, appreciation and humility.

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field required.
  • Applicants who are A.B.D in a Ph.D program will be considered.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellence in teaching.
  • A record of relevant scholarship.

  • Previous teaching, research and industrial experience.

Salary and rank:
  • Appointment at the Assistant Professor level is anticipated, though candidates with significant teaching experience at previous institutions may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor. Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
