WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Be the face of MCR for new hires and team members; exemplify MCR’s values and set a great example by always demonstrating excellent guest service and professionalism.
  • Practice, support and promote the mission, vision, and values of Muckleshoot Casino Resort (MCR).
  • Inspect internal and external documentation for accuracy, authenticity, completeness and compliance with Casino policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile various accounts payable (AP) accounts, including pre-paid expenses, capital assets, accounts payable, accruals, etc.
  • Ensure accurate AP monthly close.
  • Research and correct discrepancies and payments in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accurate payment file transmissions daily and printing of checks when necessary.
  • Consistently monitor process, analyze issues and ensuring compliance with all department, property and regulatory policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Assist with the 1099 and tax related reporting process.
  • Responsible for review, resolution, and timely reconciliation of all vendor account statement activity.
  • Provide accounting assistance to project managers, operations staff, and procurement related to accounts payable and vendor payments; respond to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs.
  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
  • Assists Assistant Financial Controller with staff time and attendance and schedules and work direction as assigned.
  • Ensure accurate input of all data into computer, prepare computerized and manual schedules.
  • Ensure timely payments of vendor invoices and expense reports.
  • Manage the monthly recurring payment process, oversee system issues and process deficiencies to management or IT for resolution.
  • Interact with vendors regarding establishing new accounts, responding to inquiries, account reconciliation and problem resolution.
  • Generate reports for distribution internally and externally on a department-wide and casino-wide basis.
  • Perform reconciliations of various paperwork, accounts, schedules, and statements.
  • Ensure accurate filing, sorting, and document maintenance of department paperwork.
  • Assist other accounting personnel as job duties are completed, or in the case of absences.
  • Maintain up-to-date file of job tasks and procedures.
  • Create, maintain, and facilitate a positive and safe work environment; promote positive team member relations and reports issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
  • Associate’s degree in accounting or completion of a business school bookkeeping program, or an additional two (2) years of accounts payable experience in lieu of degree required.
  • Four (4) years of high-volume accounts payable experience required, including experience with data entry of invoices into AP system, coordination of the disbursement process, vendor relations.
  • One (1) year of Supervisory/lead/senior accounts payable experience required.
  • Experience preparing and entering accrual entries in the general ledger
HOW YOU'LL BE SUCCESSFUL
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting software applications.
  • Knowledge of property personnel policies and procedures.
  • Skilled in problem solving, documentation, research and resolution, and data analysis.
  • Ability to demonstrate advanced ten-key by touch and strong math skills.
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential materials and information required.
  • Ability to exhibit strong time management and organizational skills needed, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to demonstrate advanced supervisory skills and techniques to ensure a positive and proficient staff work environment.
  • Ability to train and develop staff by providing constructing performance feedback and appraisals and take appropriate corrective action to address performance and conduct issues.
  • Ability to build and supervise a multi-functional staff based on organizational goals, budget considerations and staffing needs. Ensure tasks are appropriately delegated and completed by monitoring performance against predetermined standards and requirements and holds staff accountable for meeting expectations.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and make effective, sound, timely and informed decisions.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks within a high-pressure environment with speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
