To learn more about our dynamic, stable and growing company, visit .Position Summary:Operate and maintain spray drying equipment in pharmaceutical products manufacturing facility. Pay is $20 - $22 per hour depending on experience plus $1.50 differential pay for 2nd and 3rd shifts.Essential Functions:Understand raw material blending and finished goods packaging functionsBe familiar with inventory control procedures and production batch recordsBe familiar with manufacturing equipment to assure equipment is in good working orderOperate the equipment (spray dryer) using the proper cores and orifices and make sure they are cleaned or replaced when necessaryCheck spray patterns and make corrections when necessaryRecord equipment readings and product moisture noting any discrepanciesRecord any problems or peculiarities in the finished productDetermine special packaging requirementsSample finished product and test for proper moisture content, color and consistencyMake certain the blender always has an adequate amount of product available for dryingOversee the cleaning of the equipment and surrounding areasResponsible for self-involvement, team involvement and execution of tasks relative to achieving annual departmental goalsRequirements:High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred and 1 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in the pharmaceutical field)Must have high school level reading, math and comprehension skillsWorking Conditions:Position may require walking/standing for long periods; reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or liftingFrequent relocating of 100-200 lb. fiber barrels and 55 lb. bags requiredExposure to powder and heavy equipment in a loud manufacturing atmosphereManufacturing environment with exposure to powder mineral products, cleaning chemicals, restricted movement, dirty environment, hazardous materials, lifting and carrying heavy objectsIn accordance with the OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard (29CFR 1910.134) Balchem employees (Production, Quality, R&D, and Maintenance) are required to successfully complete annual fit testing (clean shaven req.) and medical clearance (respirator medical certification)In addition, when required to wear a respirator, wearers must wear it as they fit tested (clean shaven)Balchem is committed to a workplace culture that values and promotes diversity, inclusion, equal employment opportunities, and a work environment free of harassment and hostility.
