- RVA ToolBox – hands-on homecare & DIY workshops that help community members build skills, gain confidence, and have more fun caring for their homes.
- Building Change – a one-of-a-kind volunteer experience for individuals, families, corporate teams, or groups of any kind. Participants use ToolBank tools and materials to build outdoor furniture & garden features that are donated to community groups in need.
- Leading and executing a comprehensive fundraising plan to exceed revenue goals.
- Managing digital campaigns and individual giving.
- Identifying, cultivating, and soliciting individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
- Overseeing donor stewardship and recognition, ensuring timely communication and impact reporting.
- Cultivating and managing relationships with corporate partners.
- Securing sponsorships and in-kind donations.
- Developing partnership strategies aligned with the ToolBank's mission.
- Researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to grow ToolBank's programs.
- Managing grant compliance and reporting.
- Cultivating long-term foundation and government partnerships.
- Building relationships with donors, members, and partners.
- Planning and executing fundraising and community events.
- Holding donor meetings and calls to strengthen engagement and giving.
- You bring a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, etc.).
- You have 3+ years of fundraising or development experience with a proven track record of exceeding goals, including success in grant writing, corporate partnerships, and individual giving.
- You are a strategic, goal-oriented thinker who thrives on identifying opportunities, setting ambitious goals, and creating actionable plans while staying adaptable in fast-paced environments.
- You are an exceptional relationship-builder and communicator, able to connect authentically, build trust, and craft persuasive narratives for donors, volunteers, and partners.
- You are a self-motivated professional with a strong work ethic, capable of managing time and priorities effectively.
- You are a passionate advocate for community service with a proven history of engagement in local issues and a deep commitment to making a positive impact.
- You are comfortable using donor CRMs and project management tools.
- Bonus points if you bring experience in lean or startup-like nonprofit environments and familiarity with diverse fundraising platforms and donor software.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating across a small, dedicated team
- A proactive problem-solver who can anticipate challenges and pivot quickly
