We are looking for an experienced and passionate Aerospace Coatings Chemist to join our esteemed Coatings Team. You will play an important part in performing qualitative and quantitative analyses of in-process samples. Your expertise will help determine the conformance or non-conformance of materials, using your understanding of material formulation. Join our dynamic team and improve our high-quality coatings.This is an on-site role at our Mojave, CA facility and will report directly to the Associate Manager of Quality Control.This role will work 12 hour shifts 5:00 am - 5:00 pm Thurs, Fri, Saturday.Responsibilities:
  • Interpret test data required to align with product specifications
  • Tackles problems using chemistry, instrumentation, computers, and statistics, and communicates results to management
  • Ensure test equipment is calibrated and in conformance with specifications
  • Follow standard operating procedures of lab functions and equipment, and contribute to the development of new procedures
  • Ensure products are tested and approved per specification and accompanied by accurate and complete documentation
  • Help solve technical problems through coordinating, and evaluating experiments related to coatings
  • Follow quality procedures and protocols, and help implement AS9100
  • Ensure adherence to safety attitudes, procedures, and housekeeping in all work programs
  • Demonstrate teamwork to encourage other members throughout the organization
  • Assist technicians in the lab and perform more in-depth testing and material analysis
Qualifications:
  • Minimum four (4) years’ experience in a chemistry related role performing laboratory analysis or education in lieu of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related STEM field with protective coatings experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and a full face respirator

The base salary range for this position is $68,500 to $75,000 annually.
