- New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program.

- High School Diploma and Five (5) years of Administrative Support experience, preferably at the executive level.
- Professional-Level experience with Microsoft Office Programs and Outlook Calendar Management
- Must have and maintain a valid State of Florida driver’s license.
- Must possess or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification within two months of employment.
- A “Class B” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger “P” and School Bus “S” endorsements is preferred. Applicants hired without a CDL license or required endorsements must obtain, at their expense) a CDL with above endorsements within six months of hire as a condition of employment; failure to obtain the CDL with endorsements will result in termination of employment.
- Provides supervision to the Florida Youth Challenge Academy (FLYCA) Operations Department staff in accordance with established guidelines.
- Responsible for current operations based on Commandants and Deputy Director’s guidance.
- Ensures personnel evaluations are completed in accordance with current state and FLYCA policies.
- Forwards employee and Cadet’s dismissal and/or termination requested documentation actions to the Commandant of Cadets, Deputy Director, and Director for final determination.
- Oversees execution of the Cadet Discipline Platoon (ORS/DP) and prepares memorandums for each Cadet file for ORS and/pr DP, and all emailed to all pertinent parties.
- Heads disciplinary boards for Cadets and forwards recommendations to the Commandant of Cadets and Deputy Director, and if needed to the Program Director for final determination.
- Performs other duties as assigned to ensure continuity of operations.
- Participates in physical fitness training with the Cadets and Cadre, as required, to enhance spirit de corps, morale, and academy synergy.
- Ensures continuity of Cadre work schedule and the academy training schedule to accomplish academy missions with proper supervision and in a timely manner.
- Reviews all Operations Department procedures, Cadet Policies and other publications produced by the Operations Department prior to submitting to the Commandant and Deputy Director.
- Coordinates training sessions for Cadre twice a year which include, National Guard Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training, CPR Training, Conflict Resolution Training, Procedural Training, and other training sessions.
- Recruits, trains, and oversees all aspects of the Academy Cadet Flag Teams and Honor Guard Team (Drill Team & Color Guard).
- Routinely collects, verifies for correctness, and disseminates, various reports, nominations, and rosters (Bi-Weekly report, Cadet of the Month (COM) nominations, bunk, phone, haircut rosters etc.) in accordance with established suspense.
- Performs all other duties as deemed necessary by the Commandant of Cadets, Deputy Director, or Program Director.
