- Develop and implement youth programming activities.
- Evaluate programs and adjust to ensure goals and objectives are being met.
- Be knowledgeable of and comply, at all times, with the Club’s standards, policies, and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Club standards, as required by scheduling which may vary according to the needs of the Club.
- Develop, plan, monitor, and supervise summer camp activities, youth and family activities, and safety programs.
- Work with parents and club staff to plan and evaluate ongoing educational entertainment programs.
- Serve as point of contact for youth programming participants and their legal guardians/parents; also includes facilitating internal/external communications such as reports and presentations.
- Assist staff in the preparation and coordination of youth-related special events.
- Provide detailed descriptions of the club’s packages, services, facility features, and hours of cooperation and actively promote services, as well as programs, promotions, and/or discounts available. Ensure all promotional materials are current.
- Provide detailed descriptions of youth programs/events to the Communications Coordinator so they may be shared through the appropriate marketing avenues.
- Provide accurate, appropriate, and immediate responses to all requests by members, ensuring complete member/guest satisfaction.
- Regularly attend, participate in, and support training and staff meetings for the department.
- Hire, train, and supervise staff. Monitor staff performance, prepare and modify work schedules, conduct employee counseling and evaluations, provide professional development, and monitor adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Utilize NorthStar with skill and proficiency and handle all sales transactions.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in education, recreation, or sports management preferred.
- Minimum of four (4) years of related work experience in childcare, recreation, or other child or youth-related fields in a related setting.
- Must possess CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience in educational program development and implementation.
- Must have knowledge of age-appropriate activities and enjoy working with all age groups.
- Proficient in Outlook, internet applications, and knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with members, guests, clients, and employees.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform a required role in emergency situations.
- Strong organizational skills are required.
- Must work in a safe, prudent, and organized manner.
- Must possess excellent communication skills including strong verbal, written, and positive interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with members, guests, and staff of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and education levels.
- Demonstrated results-oriented and capable of working with minimal direction.
- Excellent team player with the ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
- Requires the ability to safely lift items up to 30 pounds.
