This position focuses on first- and third-party insurance coverage disputes, with a mix of litigation and pre-litigation advisory work. The right candidate will bring strong drafting skills, insurance policy interpretation expertise, and litigation experience in bad faith, declaratory relief actions, and coverage opinions.What You’ll Do
- Analyze complex policy language (homeowners, auto, CGL, life, excess, and umbrella)
- Draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights, and denial letters
- Represent insurers in coverage litigation, including bad faith claims
- Handle pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, and depositions
- Communicate directly with clients and provide clear, actionable guidance
- Assist in mediations, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation
- 3–12 years of insurance coverage and litigation experience
- Strong working knowledge of California Insurance Code and bad faith law
- Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Proven experience drafting coverage opinions and litigating complex claims
- Licensed in California (Active and in Good Standing)
- Collaborative, detail-oriented, and client-service driven
- Salary range: $145,000 – $190,000+, depending on experience
- Bonus potential based on billables and performance
