- Respond, troubleshoot, and resolve laser guided vehicles (LGV) alarm and alerts
- Performs preventative maintenance activities, work orders, and lubrication in a timely manner to maximize performance of plant equipment. Improves and modifies preventative maintenance activities as appropriate.
- Inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, and/or replaces complex processing and packaging equipment including Mechanical components such as conveyor belts, bearings, motors, pulleys, shafts, gearboxes, etc. Pneumatic components such as air cylinders, diverters, hoses, regulators, pumps, valves, etc.
- Utilizes drawings, prints, and instruction manuals to determine proper steps to be taken for equipment preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Coaches other team members on technical skills, machine functionality, defect identification and resolution, and equipment repairs.
- Active participant in training and qualification programs for designated line/area. Participates in assessments, ensures effective training, and maintains consistent qualification standards.
- Uses continuous improvement tools, including breakdown elimination, to eliminate losses and drive issues to root cause; documents, communicates, and implements corrective and preventative actions.
- Demonstrate safe operations of the forklift to include safe travel speeds and conditions to obtain a Forklift Driver’s License.
- Keep forklift area clean and be able to operator the charging station for the battery.
- Perform daily pre-operational inspections of power equipment and record the inspection.
- Review, understand and follow the operator responsibilities of all JSA’s, SOP’s, and Safe Practices written for the warehouse distribution center.
- Adhere to all OSHA standards.
- Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate with job tasks and areas.
- Load, unload, stack, stage product and materials using a forklift or other power equipment, if needed.
- Loading/Unloading: Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers, if needed.
- WMS/Inventory: Utilize warehouse management system (WMS) to maintain accurate inventory including RF capabilities for every warehouse operation to include; order selection, moves, receiving, loading and cycle counting, if needed.
- Safety, Housekeeping, Security: Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and other applicable standards. Support and abide by the company’s safety program and all safety initiatives, policies, and procedures. Report issues and problems to supervisors.
- Report maintenance issues in a timely manner.
- Immediately clean warehouse of all loose debris from the floor and traveling area.
- Communicate with both oncoming and departing shift.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous manufacturing experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
- 1 to 2 years stand-up forklift experience preferred.
- Must obtain a forklift driver’s license by demonstrating safe operations of the forklift.
- 2 to 4 years of demonstrated mechanical and/or electrical experience.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Must understand and follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Must understand and follow all Job Safety Analysis and Safe Practices.
- Must understand and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Must understand and follow all Food Safety and BRC guidelines.
- Must be able to read, count accurately, & do simple math.
- Must be able to use a computer and input data required for production.
- Must be able to give and receive feedback.
- Ability to maintain open lines of communication and contact between operations and support functions.
- Ability to perform critical thinking skills to problem solve & resolve conflicts.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and lift. The employee is required to stand and walk at minimum 90% of the time.

- The employees must occasionally life/push/pull or carry up to 60 pounds and should be able to lift 35-60 pounds on a frequent basis.
- The employee must be able to squat or kneel and to bend on a frequent basis.
- The employee must be able to work in a cold (-10 degrees F) freezer environment on a frequent basis.
- The employee must be able to tolerate exposure to flour and yeast, oils, and peanut butter as well as other materials.
- The employee must be able to climb steps on a frequent basis.
- May be required to enter confined spaces occasionally.
- Repetitive motion, reaching, handling/feeling frequently (60-90% of the time).
- Hearing protection required.
- Strong adherence to the Attendance Policy.
- Employee is required to have a minimum of 20/40 vision in each eye with or without corrective lenses. The applicant must pass a standard eye exam.
