No Nights or Weekends!The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Clinic provides pre and post-operative evaluation and care for pediatric and adult reconstructive surgery related to body injuries and conditions, burns, pressure ulcer and wound closure, cleft lip and palate, facial and jaw injuries, hand injuries, head and neck tumors, breast and skin cancer as well as tissue transfer/transplant. The clinic also cares for patients who have undergone transgender health surgeries such as vaginoplasty, phalloplasty, mastoplasty, and mastectomies.The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) has duties and responsibilities related to patient care in the ambulatory clinic environment. The individual displays responsible behaviors, communicates effectively to others and functions as a member of the healthcare team. The CMA functions under the direct supervision and authority of the physician when performing clinical tasks during patient care. The CMA reports to the clinic manager, who is responsible for administrative supervision, staff development, and orientation of the CMA to the area's policies and procedures. The CMA maintains an inventory of examination/procedure room supplies, assists in the organization of efficient patient flow, and organizes the clinic environment to assure patient safety.Shift:Full Time (40 hours)Day Shift, 8:30 am - 5:00 pmNo nights or weekends!Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program required
Licensure/Certification/Experience:
  • Completion of CMA certification with the credentials of RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CCMA or CMAA required prior to hire
  • Valid BLS CPR certification required upon hire; JHH accepts AHA, Red Cross, and military training network
  • Ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of CMA experience
