- Pitch, research, report and script original video stories.
- Shoot and edit videos in-studio and in the field.
- Manage every aspect of video production from start to finish, delivering high-quality results efficiently and on deadline.
- Manage multiple projects at various stages of production in a fast-paced setting and maintain a pipeline of work; this role will require strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Occasionally jump on camera when it makes sense, bringing your own voice and personality to videos.
- Collaborate closely with journalists across the Vox newsroom to turn our journalism into smart, timely videos.
- Develop innovative storytelling techniques and formats.
- Adhere to all journalistic and legal standards at all times.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
- 2-4 years of experience in video journalism.
- A passion for Vox's mission of helping audiences understand what really matters.
- An established record of deep research, reporting, scripting and high-quality field production.
- Expert-level understanding of Adobe Suite, with a high-level of expertise in Premiere and knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Familiarity with YouTube video production and publishing, as well as, vertical video editing tools such as Capcut, Descript.
- Proficiency with studio lighting setups and field shoots
- Strong communication, organizational and time-management skills, as well as, attention to detail.
- Collaborative team player who will enjoy working across the organization.
