Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, you will be responsible for leading the development, deployment, and performance of the national field sales team, ensuring readiness for launch and sustainable post-launch success. You bring deep experience in leading high-performing specialty sales teams, a track record of respiratory or specialty product launches, and a passion for transforming care into respiratory patient populations.Main Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the national sales strategy for Chiesi's respiratory franchise.
- Recruit, onboard, and manage a high-performing sales team comprised of (2) Area Sales Directors - East and West; (12-15) Regional Sales Directors; (100- 150) Executive Sales/Sales Representatives.
- Serves as a member of the US AIR leadership team, collaborating cross-functionally with Marketing, Market Access, Commercial Excellence, Medical Affairs, and other departments to ensure alignment and success of the launch.
- Establish KPIs and performance metrics to drive accountability and results.
- Monitor market dynamics and competitive landscape to adapt strategies accordingly.
- Foster a culture of excellence, integrity, and innovation within the sales organization.
- Represent the sales function in senior leadership discussions and strategic planning.
- This is a field-based position, with the desired candidate preferably located in the Central or Eastern time zones.
- Minimum of 10 - 15 years of progressive sales leadership experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with significant experience in sales management and leadership, ideally at a national or large regional level.
- Direct experience launching pharmaceutical products, with a focus on respiratory or related therapeutic areas.
- Deep knowledge of the respiratory therapeutic area, including disease states, treatment guidelines, and relevant products.
- In-depth understanding of the respiratory markets, including patient journey, market access, and reimbursement.
- Proven success in building and scaling high-performing sales teams in dynamic environments.
- Strong business acumen, including proficiency in market analysis, forecasting, and budget management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and lead.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
- Strong analytical skills; ability to leverage data to drive decisions.
- Ability to travel up to 50/75% is required.
- Deep understanding of respiratory products and the related market landscape, enabling strategic decision-making and effective execution.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
- Demonstrated success in cultivating strong internal team relationships and followership within the respiratory field.
