Required Clearance: SecretStrategic Analysis, Inc. is looking for a part-time Research Assistant to directly support the Naval Research Lab (NRL) in their joint efforts with the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute (NAMI) at the Naval Air Station (NAS) in Pensacola, FL. The goal of this collaborative effort is to conduct research that improves aviation selection testing for the U.S. Navy. This would be a great role for an upperclassman working towards a bachelor’s degree in psychology or a master’s-level student looking to gain hands-on, full-cycle research experience. The main responsibilities include administering research protocols among military participants multiple times per week at the research laboratory in Pensacola, FL. Other duties are related to the full-cycle research process like assisting with experimental design, statistical analysis, scientific reports, and other clerical tasks. The ideal Research Assistant possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, thrives in a team environment, and is passionate about psychological research supporting the U.S. military!Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assists in executing data collection protocols to reduce the influence of confounds order effects, examinee fatigue, and research integrity
- Administers data collection protocols multiple times per week with up to 20 research participants simultaneously per 120 – 180-minute session
- Troubleshoots software/hardware errors on laboratory computers
- Handles IRB and informed consent requirements for on-site data collection
- Aids with the data preparation for statistical analyses, project-related scientific reports, contributing to manuscripts, and giving presentations
- Provides assistance in the experimental design of data collection protocols
- Assists in maintaining laboratory space and resources
- Performs other clerical work as required for project completion

- Skilled in motivating, developing relationships, and directing research participants as they engage in data collection
- Rising junior or senior enrolled at an accredited university working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology or related field
- Demonstrated knowledge of psychological research methods
