Developing and maintaining exposure tracking through the use of spreadsheets and developing outage-related daily exposure reports through the use of graphs and/or other means which are then presented to the site’s Outage Management team on a daily basis.
Ensuring that sufficient manpower is available, by schedule, for the implementation and execution of elements of the Radiation Protection Program during both routine and outage periods while complying with Technical Specification limits and Company/Union agreements.
Providing technical assistance for assigned Radiation Protection functions.
Attending project planning meetings where details of projects are discussed, providing ALARA considerations as feedback while attending, and retaining information from discussions which would be useful for RWP and ALARA plan development.
Assisting the assigned outage projects in the development of PowerPoint presentations, which are presented to the Station ALARA Committee (SAC) for exposure budget approvals.
Determining whether the need for specialized state of the art shielding is necessary based on outage project scope.
Advocating and championing the need for new ALARA tools and technologies.
Supporting, coordinating and attending scheduled ALARA Committee meetings to provide input and feedback to members of the committee.
Performing audits of radiological records to verify completeness and adequacy of documentation for procedural, regulatory and legal purposes.
Providing technical assistance and developing calculations, outage and on-line dose reports, information analysis, and reports.
Providing Radiation Protection support during plant outages.
Performing Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties as assigned.
Supporting line and training activities as the department Training Coordinator
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
High school diploma or GED required. Degree not required, but viewed favorably
At least 5-8 years professional-level experience in Radiation Protection practices at a nuclear facility is desired.
Proficient in the use of HIS-20 or Sentinel
Proficient with MS Office programs, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong written and oral communication skills
