If you have any questions, feel free to ask during the interview process!OverviewThe Energy Systems Analyst is responsible for assessing building mechanical and electrical systems while performing technical on-site surveys and in-office analysis on assigned projects. Analysis will include participation in technical studies, investigations, and development of energy-efficient and deferred maintenance scope on assigned projects.ResponsibilitiesSpecific responsibilities include:
- Assists in the production of projects that are on-time, within-budget, and meet the requirements of industry standards & codes and client specifications.
- Conducts site surveys to determine existing facility conditions either independently or with senior level staff/project manager. Assists in identifying and preparing energy efficient and deferred maintenance scope.
- Performs mechanical system calculations including load calculations, ventilation schedules, etc.
- Interacts in meetings with owners, clients, and/or architects as needed either independently or with senior level staff/project manager; prepares meeting notes.
- Designs and prepares drawings for mechanical systems for projects including duct and pipe sizing.
- Assists the development team in the coordination with other disciplines including energy modeling, financial modeling, lighting, design, etc.
- Attends in-house and external training sessions to obtain knowledge in necessary technical areas related to building systems.
- Participates in industry organizations and attends events, meetings, and activities.

- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from a four-year ABET accredited university.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills and aptitude.
- Required experience in Excel and Word.
- Ability to communicate effectively with facility managers and engineers.
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines while on survey.
- Ability to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Ability to use technology and apps for collecting data while on survey.
- Passion for quality and client satisfaction.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
- Prefer 1-3 years of energy-related client interface for an engineering design firm.
- Preferred experience with building energy services in the health and higher-education field.
- Experience with mechanical and electrical design drawings.
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE).
- Participation in industry organizations and attends events, meetings, and activities.
- 25-50% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.
- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles.
- Climbing stairs.
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Operating machinery and/or power tools.
- Outdoor elements such as precipitation, heat, cold, and/or wind.
- Noisy environment.
- Light to heavy work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects from 20-100 pounds.
