The Payments team of U.S. Data Security department of TikTok provides payment solutions - including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, and so on - to ensure that users have a smooth and secure payment experience on TikTok platform.In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for developing and executing on analytics and reporting initiatives which deliver data-driven insights to internal and external stakeholders, including strategy, operations, business, engineering, and R&D teams in both US and globally. You are playing a key role in empowering the TikTok platform to achieve overall payment success by way of payment security. You will contribute to the development of industry-leading capabilities to protect TikTok and our users from emerging payment threats and ensure secure payment growth. You must be able to work both independently and as part of a team to deliver a set of needs in a fast-paced environment. Specific responsibilities include:
- Perform in-depth analysis and deliver insights on US and global initiatives.
- Cultivate and maintain a suite of reporting and intelligence assets that are easy to understand, well socialized and intuitive.
- Identify the right source of data to respond to a variety of high-impact requests raised by business partners and stakeholders enabling a data driven decision making;
- Conduct deep dive analyses of nuances associated with line of products, metric calculation, naming conventions and formulate conclusions and recommendations to be presented to senior leadership across business functions and global regions.
- Understand a wide range of data resources and can advise on and determine the most relevant sourcing approach based on context of requests and business needs.
- Write efficient code to retrieve and analyze data with knowledge of best practices to reduce system resource consumption and server response time.
- Design, implement, and enhance a scalable and reliable pipeline for Analysis using Cloud database and Cloud based data mining tools.
- Create documentation to illustrate the design of the data product, the assumptions, the results, the recommendations, and the validation performed.
- Synthesize and translate complex findings into relevant and actionable insights.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years working in analytics, risk, management consulting, strategic operations or insight delivery.
- 2+ years of coding experience in Hive, SQL, Python,
- 2+ years of experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau).
- Possess a relentless, user-centric and result-driven mindset coupled with strong problem-solving skills and an ability to break down complex problems and propose alternative, new ways of thinking.
- Be comfortable working virtually with teams across regions and time zones.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are required. This isn't just about data-it's about delivering insights!Preferred Qualifications
- An advanced quantitative or technical degree is highly desirable.
- Risk analytics/operations, data science experience or similar quantitative business responsibility for financial services, eCommerce, or operational performance is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with payments transaction lifecycle, transaction data attributes, and fraud/chargeback events is a plus.D&I Statement
