What are the day-to-day responsibilities?
  • Become a mechanics mate and learn the following through mentoring, coaching and actual particpation:
  • Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards to drive Customer loyalty.
  • Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and perform repair, if authorized by the Customer.
  • Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.
  • Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
  • Maintaining an inventory of normal Technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as “special tools.”
  • Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.
  • Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty
Automotive Service Technician Apprentice Job DescriptionAn automotive service technician apprentice will shadow and follow all of the commands willingly given by the mentoring & coach technician. Youn will conduct yourslef in such a manner and be proffesional at all times as if you are a skilled-level technician. You will be required to learn in fullness with competency and perform diagnoses and repairs in all areas.Personal Accountability

Who Would I Interact With?
This position interacts daily with your coach and mentor, other Technicians. You will be introduced to members of the team as you develop your skills sets that work in Parts and with our customer facing Service Advisors. You will observe and take notes when a valued customer is present and speaking with the Senior Technician. You will from time to time observe and listen as Sales Associates, Sales Managers, Directors and the General Manager have conversations with the Senior Technician.Automotive Service Technician Physical Demands
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Typically, may bend, stoop, lift or carry objects weighting up to 50 pounds.
