
Purchasing Specialist

- Lead and manage procurement pricing inputs for business opportunity RFQs, RFPs, RFI's etc., for contract logistics services across the Americas Region
- Analyze and review bid submissions, benchmark pricing, and develop cost models to support strategic sourcing decisions
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, and operations teams to validate pricing structures and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Maintain a database of historical bid data and market trends to support future negotiations
- Support logistics and procurement projects from initiation through execution, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and business goals
- Host project calls and provide detailed project status updates to key stakeholders and leadership
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, finance and procurement teams to support new business launches
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for bids and projects
- Serve as a liaison between internal departments and external providers to resolve issues and align expectations
- Travel to new business launch sites, set up and maintain purchasing processes/functions until permanent position is filled, trained and functioning
- Other duties as assigned
- 4+ years of experience in Purchasing or a related field
- Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, materials or related major preferred
- Knowledge of purchasing processes, researching vendors and service providers
- Strong Negotiation skills to reach best price and conditions
- Knowledge and experience with the SAP business data base
- Knowledge of business processes and accounting practices
- Ability to train and instruct other purchasing professionals
