Software Test EngineerThe Software Test Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of mission-critical software systems used in advanced defense applications. You will design and execute test strategies, automate processes, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-assurance solutions that support the safety and success of defense operations.Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and execute test plans, procedures, and cases for embedded and application-level software.
  • Automate testing processes using modern frameworks and scripting languages.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and system-level testing across multiple environments.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to identify, reproduce, and resolve defects.
  • Validate requirements coverage by reviewing design and requirements documents.
  • Ensure testing processes comply with defense standards (e.g., DO-178C, MIL-STD).
  • Document and report test results to engineering leadership, program management, and customers.
  • Participate in reviews, audits, and system validation activities, including field testing when necessary.
  • Drive continuous improvements in testing methodologies, processes, and toolsets.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software testing, preferably in defense, aerospace, or mission-critical systems.
  • Strong background in automated testing and scripting (Python, C#, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, QA methodologies, and embedded systems testing.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience testing SATCOM, TTNC, or satellite systems (LEO, MEO, GEO).
  • Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and simulation testing experience.
  • Background in Agile/DevOps environments.
  • ISTQB or similar software testing certification.
  • Prior experience with DoD software compliance requirements.
