
Senior Director, Copywriter

- Display an advanced understanding of marketing communication principals, including strategy, positioning and process.
- Effectively direct talent during video shoots and voiceover records.
- Work with designers and art directors to amplify the power of word and visual interaction.
- Partner with other team members (e.g., planners, strategists, business partners) to create strategically sound solutions.
- Develop insight-driven and action-inducing copy
- Prepare and present ideas and copy, articulating messaging, approaches, and priorities.
- Experiment with internal AI tools for copy development, as well as to increase speed-to-market.
- Keeps up to date with insurance industry trends as well as trends impacting client industries.
- Ensure final output (copy, art, design and/or video) is aligned with Travelers brand guidelines and follows internal approval processes.
- Manages and/or works on several campaigns at once, under pressure and on tight deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 4 years of leadership experience preferred.
- 7+ years of related experience, specifically in a creative design function preferred.
- Seasoned knowledge of company products, services, marketing strategies and company brand guidelines, standards/practices.
- An exceptional on-line portfolio that showcases an advanced understanding of copywriting.
- Demonstrates excellent time-management and multi-tasking abilities, with the ability to independently meet deadlines, including internal check-ins.
- Experience researching trends and interpreting/applying them.
- Ability to align resources to accomplish key objectives.
- Ability to persuade and motivate others at various levels of the organization through collaboration and cooperation.
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely; disseminate information about decisions, plans and activities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of design, video, motion graphics, and other emerging mediums.
- Advanced project management skills and ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Advanced ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Advanced analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in a creative function.
