Location: Kings Mountain, NCJob SummaryThe Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing all shipping operations, including the coordination of loading processes, tracking of customer orders, and inventory management. This role requires a strong construction background and the ability to work hands-on in the yard, assisting with loading trucks in all weather conditions. The ideal candidate will bring both organizational and operational expertise, with experience in heavy equipment operation—such as track hoes, excavators, and large forklifts—being highly valuable. Training will be provided as needed.   • Create and implement a new loading process for plant operations, including driver check-ins, ticketing of all loads with product descriptions, and bar code scanning.
  • Establish and manage the traffic flow for trucks through the site, including check-ins, loading, securement of cargo, and checkouts.
  • Based on the expected truck volume for the day, establish the number of operators and equipment needed to load the trucks in a timely manner.
  • Assist directly with loading operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency while working alongside the team in the yard.
  • Safely operate and coordinate the use of heavy equipment (track hoe, excavator, forklifts, etc.) during loading operations; training will be provided where needed.
  • Track all customer orders by PO or Job #, collaborate with the Plant Manager to ensure order completion dates, and communicate progress to customers.
  • Upon order approval by inspection, coordinate delivery options with customers and set up hauling through Trucking Dispatch as needed.
  • Coordinate with the Plant Manager on the timing, loading, staging, and any special circumstances regarding scheduled loads.
  • Send job completion reports to the appropriate entity for invoicing.
  • Establish trucking rates with carriers on a job-by-job basis and review/approve trucking invoices for all hauls under your management.
  • Track all inventory of approved products using daily production reports and shipping tickets; update product inventories weekly via the weekly shipping report.
Requirements
  • Construction background required.
  • Experience with managing product deliveries and scheduling.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment such as track hoes, excavators, and forklifts strongly preferred (training available).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with internal teams and customers.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and software for tracking orders, inventory, and shipments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in managing traffic flow and securing cargo is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all elements, including exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs as needed.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility and yard.
  • May require occasional bending, kneeling, or climbing.
  • Ability to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the environment and job tasks.
  • Must be able to remain focused and maintain safety awareness in a fast-paced, potentially hazardous environment.
