Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and address any IT-related challenges, providing expert solutions that enhance customer satisfaction. You will lead the IT team in implementing innovative technologies while maintaining a safe work environment. Regularly analyzing data and feedback will be essential for refining our processes and improving performance.You will also monitor network security and manage vendor relationships, ensuring that all IT initiatives align with the company's strategic goals. Daily meetings to assess project progress and discuss emerging trends in Information Technology will be part of your routine, allowing you to stay ahead in this fast-paced industry. A strategic mindset will help you align IT initiatives with Barrett Petfood's overall goals, ensuring long-term success.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic IT Leadership & Operations
  • Develop and execute IT strategies aligned with business objectives, optimizing enterprise systems and technology investments.
  • Lead IT & OT integration efforts to ensure seamless coordination between manufacturing and business operations.
  • Oversee ERP (Plex), MES, EDI, Data, AI, and other enterprise applications, ensuring stability, security, and scalability.
  • Drive data analytics initiatives, leveraging business intelligence tools like PowerBI to enhance decision-making.
  • Establish and enforce best practices in IT governance, ITIL processes, and risk management.
Cybersecurity & Information Security
  • Build and enhance cybersecurity programs to meet the requirements for cybersecurity insurance compliance.
  • Implement Identity Access Management (IAM) protocols to safeguard corporate and manufacturing data.
  • Monitor and mitigate cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance risks.
  • Develop incident response plans, disaster recovery strategies, and IT continuity planning.
Technology Infrastructure & Digital Transformation
  • Oversee cloud, network, and infrastructure security, ensuring system performance and reliability.
  • Lead initiatives for AI-driven automation, IoT integration, and Industry 4.0 adoption in manufacturing technology.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to drive efficiency, cost savings, and operational excellence.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Manage and mentor a four-person IT team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and Executive Leadership to align IT initiatives with business needs.
  • Lead vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and IT service management.
Qualifications & ExperienceRequired:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of IT leadership experience, with at least 5 years in manufacturing industry IT environments.
  • Strong expertise in ERP (Plex ERP), MES, EDI, Microsoft Office365, PowerBI, AI, and cybersecurity functions.
  • Experience with Operational Technology (OT) systems and IT/OT convergence in manufacturing environments.
  • Track record of developing cybersecurity programs to meet insurance and regulatory standards.
  • Strong understanding of network security, cloud computing, and identity & access management (IAM).
  • Ability to travel to Brainerd, MN, and other Barrett Petfood sites as needed.
Preferred:
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS in Information Systems, or related field).
  • Experience in food or medical device manufacturing industries.
  • Certifications such as CISM, CISSP, PMP, or ITIL.
