Actalent is hiring Quality Control Lab Assistants!Job DescriptionAs a Quality Control Lab Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the preparation of materials for testing and aiding professional individuals in conducting various laboratory tests. Your duties will include the receipt and preparation of samples through front-end automation, storage and archiving of samples, retrieval for additional testing, and preparation of buffer materials.Responsibilities
  • Receive and process specimens and supplies, recording information from collection centers.
  • Handle and track donor samples from receipt to final testing.
  • Properly dispose of samples into biohazard containers after testing.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab instrumentation.
  • Utilize computerized inventory management systems to manage sample tracking and testing status.
  • Monitor inventory levels for laboratory supplies and notify supervisors of needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred experience in laboratory settings or production line work
Work EnvironmentThis role is located within a donor processing and manufacturing facility. Opportunities for training in the medical field are available for entry-level candidates with a bachelor's degree and no additional certifications. The environment offers a positive work atmosphere with set shifts, avoiding on-call or STAT labs typical in hospitals. Work shifts are from 2:30 PM to 11 PM, with options for Sunday through Thursday or Monday through Friday schedules.
