Compounding Pharmacy TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Compounding Technician is responsible for lab functions that include preparing formula and compounding records, as well as compounding and labeling a variety of non-sterile compounded medications. All duties are performed efficiently and accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The Compounding Lab Technician demonstrates a commitment to the mission of the Pharmacy and the goals of the organization.Responsibilities
  • Maintain a working knowledge of applicable pharmacy rules and regulations.
  • Follow all policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong comprehension of USP 795.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of pharmacy software.
  • Enter new compounds into dispensing pharmacy software.
  • Prioritize and prepare formula and compound records.
  • Compound medications accurately and efficiently.
  • File necessary paperwork.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Pull outdated medications for destruction.
  • Maintain compliance with company and HIPAA patient confidentiality requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including inventories and ordering, assisting in finding, stopping, and expediting specific orders, and project work.
Essential Skills
  • Laboratory experience or Degree in the Sciences.
OR:
  • 1+ year of Pharmacy Technician experience
Work EnvironmentThe work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The dress code requires scrubs, and the company provides two pairs as work attire. Employees must be comfortable standing at a lab bench for the entire shift. The pharmacy closes at 6 p.m., ensuring no late-night shifts. The location offers a supportive and enjoyable team environment with a low turnover rate, indicative of a positive company culture. Employees are offered two 15-minute paid breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.50 - $23.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
